almost a year ago, i posted an entry about my Early Birthday Wish. i celebrated my 25th birthday exactly a month ago but i didn't receive it from anyone who cares enough to give me a gift. not that i'm complaining. i'm a very shallow person so an SMS birthday greeting is enough for me. i also forgot that birthday wish coz i was preoccupied with other things that time.
so this afternoon, i went to the mall to buy some school supplies and a book (Para Kay B by Ricky Lee). my first stop was National Bookstore, SM North Edsa. that branch of NBS is the nearest store that sells ink cartridges for my Inoxcrom fountain pens. i also bought a blue folder which my Dad needs. as usual, any trip to the bookstore would not be complete without checking out the books. there were books on sale but i didn't see anything interesting.
then i went to Fully Booked, The Block coz it has been a long time since i have been there. i have to stop myself from buying all the books i like. good thing i only brought enough money for the things i plan to buy. when i approached the shelf of Moleskines, i saw a pink pocket notebook. pink. my favorite color. when i got it, i saw that it's a pocket volant. oh my. Moleskine Volants are available here! i really wanted to buy it but i don't have enough money so i just left. but i promised myself to be back as soon as possible to buy that pink Moleskine.
i immediately went to Powerbooks, TriNoma to buy the book and to sign up for the book club. i also bought 2 Read Magazines, one of which has Christopher Paolini on the cover. *sigh*. i strolled around the store and noticed that there were only 2 shelves of Young Adult books. what the heck happened to the other shelves? i hope that on my next visit, the other shelves would be back. since i have nothing else to do, i left the store.
but before going home, i passed by Fully Booked Express. as soon as i entered the store, i found myself going straight to the Moleskine shelf. lo and behold, there were 2 large Moleskine Volant in pink! i couldn't resist anymore so i went to the nearest ATM and rushed back to Fully Booked to buy the pink Moleskines. i got it on a discounted price since i have a Fully Booked discount card. i know that it's an impulse buy. BUT, it was my birthday gift to myself and there were 2 stocks left so i have to buy one in case they never replenish their stocks again. well, i asked one of the staff and she told me she's not sure when they'll have stocks. so it's really great that i bought one of the two remaining stocks.
i know that getting excited over a pink notebook seems weird. i still have lots of notebooks to fill so why buy a new one? i'm not really sure. all i know is that i'm very happy right now coz my shallow birthday wish came true even if it's one month late. FYI, Moleskine Volant was not available here during the time i posted that blog entry and the months after that. so seeing and holding them in person was something i never expected would happen.
okay. enough of the drama.

Hi shane, Happy Birthday!
I like to buy a moleskin notebook but I want to know and learn from you on how you used this notebook. Can I put some notes in my profession so I wont forget it?.
I want to know first before I buy. Where do you use your moleskin notebook? Im curious.
Para hindi sayang...
I hope You'll gladly help me in giving some ideas
Thanks
hi! thanks for the greeting. :)
sorry for replying only now coz i've been really busy. anyway, it's up to you on how you want to use your Moleskine. i have Moleskines for different uses: personal journal, diary, random notes, art works, work-related notes, school-related notes (for my graduate studies). i have a lot of notebooks other than my Moleskines because i love to write. so if you love to write, then a Moleskine or any notebook or paper would not be a waste.
:)
Thank you!;-)
